Fluorosilicates and sodium fluorides are two such natural compounds which may dissolve in the groundwater, leading up to the drinking water flowing up to your taps. There is a permissible limit specified by government health monitoring agencies regarding fluoride presence in water. For instance, in the United States, the regulatory body called the EPA specifies fluoride levels in water to be in the range of 4.0mg/l or 4ppm.

Fluoride is therefore essentially regarded as a contaminant of drinking water. To purify water, the fluoride in drinking water must either be fully removed or adjusted to be within the permissible levels. To this purpose, you would be needing water purification machines. water purification machines are already available that remove the fluoride present in drinking water. Such machines should ideally use no chemicals for water treatment as the chemical used may again become a component of water pollution . The ideal machine for purifying the fluoride in drinking water should be compact, discharging no waste water, easy to install and use and of course come with a low energy consumption parameter.
